Volcanoes National Park's Youth Internship Program

Juniors and Seniors are you interested in the outdoors? 
Would you like to get paid to learn more about it?

Apply to Volcanoes National Park's Youth Internship Program to "learn about the precious natural and cultural resources that the park protects, and the numerous recreational opportunities the park offers." Once you've learned enough, you'll even be able to share your "newly gained insight and appreciation with hundreds of thousands of park visitors during the busy summer months."

There are 50 spots for this training session. Trainings are once a week for 2 hours and students get paid $20 for each session!  At the end of the session, 25 students will be selected to apply for summer positions.

*Student must participate in all training sessions (no absences), participate in discussions and turn in assignments and requests.

To apply you must, 
Be a student in the Ka'u or Puna districts.
Be a Junior or Senior
Have 2.5 GPA 
Be a US Citizen
Send a letter of intent before January 10, 2018 by email to: kupono_mcdaniel@nps.gov (no google doc, send as an attachment please)

This letter must have your,
1.) Name
2.) Phone Number
3.) Address
4.) Email Address
5.) Grade level 
6.) The name of the school you currently attend as well as the school you will be attending in 2018 (seniors, you must be planning to attend college in the fall)
7.) Reason for wanting to be in this type of program and why you would be a good fit for the program.
